A Florida scholarship organisation that lets eligible families direct funding toward approved educational services, including physical development with an approved provider like JM Soccer Performance.
Many can, and many do not realise it. Homeschool athletes are who we work with most through Step Up, and our Homeschool Midday Sessions exist specifically for them. Send the form and we will help you work out where you stand.
Yes, through approved providers. Our sessions are approved as Educational Physical Development.
You apply to Step Up for Students directly. Applications go through Step Up for Students directly, on their website. We cannot apply on your behalf, but we will walk you through it.
That is set by Step Up, and it varies by program and application window. Call or text 848-298-4856 and we will tell you what current families are seeing.

That is common and it is not a problem. Tell us what is left and we will build a block that fits it.
Step Up for Students administers Florida scholarship programs that let families direct funding toward approved educational services rather than only school tuition. Depending on the program your child qualifies under, that can include tutoring, curriculum, therapies, and physical development with an approved provider.
JM Soccer Performance is a listed Step Up for Students approved vendor. Our sessions qualify as Educational Physical Development — not as “extra soccer” — and most of our programs qualify for Step Up funding.
Eligibility depends on the program, and it is broader than most families assume. Homeschool families in particular often qualify and never apply, because they assume scholarship funding only applies to private school tuition.
Homeschool athletes are the families we work with most through Step Up, and our Homeschool Midday Sessions were built around exactly that. Eligibility itself is decided by Step Up, not by us — but we help you confirm your funding and your enrollment in qualifying programs once you are approved.
Not sure whether you qualify? Send the evaluation form at the bottom of this page. Coach James will talk it through with you — there is no cost and no obligation.
Yes — that is why JM Soccer Performance is listed as an approved provider. Private and small-group soccer training is physical development delivered by a licensed coach, with documented sessions and tracked progress.
Our training is approved under Educational Physical Development. Sessions are 60 minutes, delivered by a US Soccer C licensed coach who is background-checked and insured, on a structured 3 or 6 month plan.
Florida homeschool families keep their own portfolio of records, and you decide what goes in it. What we do is make that straightforward: every player trains on a structured plan, and you get documentation you can file.
Each block of training gives you:
Families use that record as the physical education portion of their portfolio. If your program has a specific format you need it in, tell us and we will match it.
If you do not have funding yet, that is your first step — you apply to Step Up for Students directly, not through us. Applications go through Step Up for Students directly, on their own website. We cannot apply on your behalf.
Application windows and decision times are set by Step Up and change from year to year. Call or text 848-298-4856 and we will tell you what current families are seeing.
Send us the evaluation form anyway while you wait. We will hold your spot and get your player’s plan ready so training can start the week your funding lands.
Fill in the evaluation form below and select “Yes — I have Step Up funding.”
Approval is not automated, so he checks everything with you directly — your program, your award, and what your player actually needs. Usually a short call or text exchange.
Your first session is a free evaluation. We assess your player’s current level and build a personalized development plan, then begin structured sessions focused on ball mastery, decision-making and confidence.
Small Group Training is $50 per session. 1-on-1 Training and Homeschool Midday Sessions are quoted per player — call or text 848-298-4856 and we will walk you through it.
Every session is 60 minutes, for players aged 9 to 14. All programs run on a 3-month or 6-month commitment — that structure is what makes the development stick.
Step Up funding is applied directly toward these sessions. If your award covers part of a block, tell us — we will work out the balance with you before anything starts.
JM Soccer Performance is rated 5.0 from 35 Google reviews. What parents write about most is that the work transfers — that skills built in a session show up in the next game, which is exactly what funding is meant to buy.
Private sessions run seven days a week, with weekly clinics on Fridays and Sundays and midday slots kept open for homeschool families.
Step Up for Students soccer training works the same way as any of our programs, with one extra step: Coach James confirms your funding and enrollment with you directly before the first session. Most families are training within a week of getting in touch.
Our soccer training programs run 60 minutes for players aged 9 to 14, in 3-month or 6-month blocks, across South Tampa and Davis Islands. Send the evaluation form above, or call and text 848-298-4856.
